The drivetrain is still a performance oriented 1×11 set up and, in all, this is still a competitive racing machine. Given the versatility of this frame, it is perhaps to be expected that there is a large number of different builds on offer. It is available with flat bars and drop bars, carbon forks and steel forks, there’s even a titanium frame option.

If you’re a petite woman, the Liv Tempt 4 would be an affordable option. If you prefer a wider range of speed options the Genesis 26″ V2100 Mountain Bike might be an entry-level bike worth trying. The Liv Tempt 4 is relatively more expensive and uses a lightweight ALUXX-grade aluminum frame. So it is a little lighter than the Genesis 26″ V2100 Mountain Bike, and a little more flexible when dealing with off-road climbs.
Finished with 37mm tyres and in a glorious forest green colourway, this is an enduring bike and one worthy of the Day One moniker. Set up was simple, the bike did come with a whole bunch of spacers below the stem, after less than 30 seconds on the bike I had these shuffled to get the front as low as possible and it was off to the trails. A combination of clean lines and an eye pleasing Cyan Blue paint job make the Core a very pretty bike and at a price that is pretty attractive too.
