Using a combination of galvanic and eHPL (enhanced home pulsed light) energy, the hair removal tool aims to open pores before a pulse of light targets hair at the root. It took us several treatments to see results – though our hairs did grow back noticeable finer and sparser.

The regular attachment is perfect for generally doing the legs. Before the first treatment, it’s advised to do a small patch test to see if there is any reaction then you are good to go. To prepare before treatments, you need to remove all hair and make sure the skin isn’t wet or irritated. I noticed a significant change in hair growth and density after 3 treatments (as in, I used the device once every week for 3 weeks straight). The hair was taking longer to grow and some areas/spots have actually become hair-free.
But back to my IPL… Price-wise, it is an investment but one that has proven worthy shortly after its purchase. The device is suitable for both women and men, however, according to the instructions, it is not advisable to be used on men’s beards. Because it can produce permanent results, don’t use it in areas where you might want hair to grow back. The color contrast between the hair and skin helps the IPL device to interact with the melanin pigments effectively. It should be noted that this device (and all IPL devices and treatments in general) is unfortunately not suitable for a select range of hair color and skin tones. For example, the product won’t work on light blonde or red hair on any type of skin tone, as well as any hair color on dark skin tones.
