Electric Bikes

The Marshall has a 6061 aluminum frame with internal cable routing, along with JAK 7 mechanical disc brakes with a 180mm front rotor and 160mm rear rotor. At the front of the Schwinn Marshall is a 27.5”, Hi-Ten steel fork with 100m travel. This offers plenty of cushion for off-road riding, or in case you hit any potholes on the way to work. From electric mountain bikes to unique cruisers and hybrid electric bikes, Schwinn has a range of six electric bikes for casual bike riders. Each Schwinn electric bike has a powerful motor, pedal-assist, and throttle modes to choose from, and an extended range of at least 35 miles.

The bike comes with a key which both locks the battery in place and enables the bike to be turned on. There is a battery life indicator on the left handlebar, and the Shimano Revo-shift lever — which controls what gear you’re in — on the right. Riding this Schwinn without the pedal assistance on is, as you’d expect, just like riding any other bike… All three of the new Schwinn ebike models have step-thru and standover versions, 20mph speed limit and 250-watt brushless geared hub drive motor. The 250 watt motor can’t push much up bigger hills but it’s a lovely help when you’re pedalling.

The features like the neat integrated lighting are rarely seen in the industry and are a definite win. And the build quality feels like it should stand the test of time. That being said, the small-ish 250W motor isn’t going to be a powerhouse on hills. The bike accelerates fine on flat ground, but you’ll definitely need to add some leg assist if you’re going to be climbing tall hills. Over the years, Schwinn has empowered millions of people, earning a special place in the hearts and minds of generations of riders.

At the very top of the Schwinn electric bike range is the Coston DX. This electric bike is available as step-through and standover options that cover everything from the morning commute to the evening trail ride. More powerful than all the other Schwinn e-bikes, the schwinn ebike Coston DX has a 360Wh battery with a 45-mile range and a top speed of 20mph. Schwinn electric bikes is the solution to your busy daily commute, especially if you are living in metropolitan areas, these bikes are designed both for your comfort and convenience.

The suspension isn’t top of the line and doesn’t include lockout but it definitely smoothes out the ride and the adjustability of the stem and handlebars is wonderful. The motor driving this bike offers 180 watts nominal power and up to 250 watts peak. It’s a planetary geared design by Protanium and it offers good torque while keeping weight down. The motor is quiet during operation and blends in with the rest of the bike.

For the time period it was released, this was a pretty awesome battery and that shines true today with bikes still on the road. Lithium is known for being light weight and since this pack is also relatively small at 266 watts vs. 360 or so, it helps to schwinn dealers keep the overall weight of the bike down. The pack has a built in handle and LED light readout for a quick estimate of remaining battery capacity. The pack locks to the frame and does require the key to be left in to a second slot in order to be used.

The bike can also tell when you are going downhill or coasting and will disengage the motor to save battery power. The acceleration is palpable but not jerky or jarring, although, like me, you may be initially surprised at its strength. After charging up the battery, sliding it into the rack system at the back of the bike (which could not be simpler), and locking it into place, you’re ready to go.

The Marshall looks like a mountain bike with a comfy cruiser feel to it. A step-thru version offers a slightly lower top bar than the regular version. We tested the Marshall electric bike on pavement, gravel and dirt to see how Schwinn’s new models stack up against the growing number of ebike options. Similarly to Healy Ridge 26, this bike has a 250W motor and 280Wh battery at your service. Ultimately, the Healy Ridge 24 is a perfect entry-level option for teenagers and electric bike beginners. From the Coston DX to the Schwinn Mendocino, the Schwinn electric bike line-up covers anything from on-road to off-road, from a casual cruise to running errands with the kids.

But even the mid- to low-end Shimano parts are perfectly fine for this level of bike. There I could add some pedal effort without getting tired, leaving me feeling satisfied with my exercise level but not so overly schwinn dealers exerted that I couldn’t enjoy the beautiful trails around me. In terms of pricing, this is not the cheapest e-bike you can buy. But it’s one of the least expensive ones you can buy from a bike company.

The Schwinn Coston CE is very much a commuter electric bike, but it’s not one of those thin-wheeled messenger e-bikes. That means the motor is located on the rear hub and works by spinning the back wheel. This creates the feeling of being pushed – it’s that extra boost of energy e-bikes are famous for. While it could use a little boost to a 500 watt motor to help on the hills, the smaller motor keeps the price lower. If you’re looking for a solid ebike to help you get around on-road and off, definitely check out the Schwinn Marshall. By default, the console shows the battery left, speed, total distance and pedal assist level.
