Thank you OZARK for making camping nights with small children just a little more difficult!!!! Good thing we are all troopers and we didn’t let your HORRIBLE product ruin our trip. We’ll be buying Coleman from here on out. The design change ozark trail sun shelter I want to comment on concerns the little “laundry room” that protrudes out the back of the tent. The short pole supplied for that protrusion splintered in two places and poked about four small holes in the black fabric of the laundry bubble.
We planned on camping for a week and ended up only camping for five days because of the tent’s incapacity to keep us dry. We, like some others, know that tents are NOT waterproof, so we sprayed the seams etc. with water replant. When we reached the beach everything went great, first night 30 mh winds.
I sprayed the tent after the first use (I feel a tent should get a test run without water sealant the first time then if it leaks I will spray it with sealant). This tent leaked a little the first time after only one hour of rain. Then after putting sealant on the sides and rain-fly with spray and seam seal stick it still leaked. Lastly after only five times using it the shock cord pole for the rain-fly broke (the cord snapped).
I bought this tent for a sort trip with three small children. The price was reasonable, the size was wonderful, the set- up easy. Overall it was worth the price and a good product. It rained about every other day, and after the first night there were puddles on both ozark trail sleeping bag ends of the tent. The windows leaked big time and the rainfly pole over the door kept falling over, soaking the front of the tent. I bought this tent to take my family out camping so my kids could experience the pleasure of the outdoors like I did when I was a kid.
Whether it’s finding great products or discovering helpful advice, we’ll help you get it right (the first time). We used this tent a few times and lost the rain fly, first time we used it rained and didn’t have problem but the zipper broke and got stuck. The second time we used I can’t find a new rain fly anyway. We bought this tent maybe 4 years ago they shouldn’t discontinue a line so fast. That upsets me because they know if you can’t get new parts you will buy a new one, not right or eco friendly. We just bought this tent over the weekend and put it up.
