The length of the Ozark Trail tent is about 13 feet and 9 inches, while the width is about 9 feet and 11 inches, so slightly smaller than the marketed dimensions of 14 by 10 feet. Next, attach the 6 steel wall poles to the elbow connectors (the top of each pole) and to the pin at the other end (the base of each pole). The 2 green pole sleeves are for the longer diagonal poles (with 9 fiberglass segments), and the 1 blue pole sleeve is the for the shorter pole (with 5 fiberglass segments). There is also a removable media pocket (shown below), and a large removable organizer with many pockets which you can hang on the wall without windows or just over the window as the picture shows.
And finally, the biggest con is probably that the quality isn’t the best with the slightly sticky tent fabric, loose threads, snagging issues and inconsistent mesh. It also has a nice high peak height of 88 inches, plus its side walls are vertical, so it offers a lot of livable space. The zippers worked fine for the windows, but kept snagging on the door because of this rain cover. My other tents with similar designs did not have this serious of a snagging problem.
First, although this is an instant tent, the unique layout and integrated awning make setup a little more involved than most. Second, the tall vertical walls and “L” shape make it about as far from aerodynamic as they come. Do NOT phone in the guyline portion of set-up (regardless of the weather) or you’ll risk damaging the tent.
The windows and doors are with panels as mentioned above so you have all protection, but with so many zippers and windows, it is best to use it in areas without much rain. I didn’t pay much for this tent (just slightly over $100), and I don’t think there’s any other brand apart from Ozark Trail that you can buy a 10-person tent for this price. The rainfly has to be in place, so the ceiling mesh will be covered. You might get a little bit of ventilation through the gap between the ceiling mesh and the rainfly, but I think it’s pretty minimal. This Ozark Trail 10-Person Tent can accommodate 10 single sleeping pads or sleeping bags, and here’s what having 10 pads in this 10-person tent looks like.
Shape wise most Ozark Trail tents either come in a cabin or dome shape. Cabin tents typically have more room inside to stretch out thanks to their high ceilings and vertical walls, so most Ozark Trail shoppers will likely want to focus on cabin tents. Each of the cabin’s three rooms includes its own privacy divider, and each is large enough to fit a queen-sized mattress as well, so it’s a great option for large groups or families.
Also, I noticed that some water was already seeping through the blue fabric at the bottom of the tent, and the fabric is pretty much soaked. You can also leave ozark trail shower tent the rainfly off, and stargaze at night when it’s not raining. For ventilation, this Ozark Trail 10-Person Tent has a lot of mesh on the roof of the tent.
But in the case of a real summer camping, I see it suitable for couples or for parents with one small child. They write that it can accommodate 2 queen airbeds but you would not have much space around. Second, Ozark Trail tents are affordable because they use very basic materials. All Ozark Trail poles are either steel alloy or fiberglass, and the fabrics used throughout the tent are typically on the thinner side. Again, not a deal-breaker, but don’t expect these tents to stand up to the same use and abuse as their premium alternatives from brands. It’s a cool tent all around, but our favorite feature has to be the 360-degree views delivered courtesy of this yurt’s giant mesh windows.
It rained for about an hour while I was using this Ozark Trail 10-Person Cabin Tent, with about 20 minutes of moderate rainfall and about 40 minutes of pretty light rain. The door has 2 zippers for the bug net, and 2 for the door itself. The zipper quality is not the best, it’s a little bit noisy, and it always, always snags from the outside because of this green rain cover. The single door measures about 54 by 39 inches in dimensions, although it’s about 62 inches from the floor to the top of the door. This is almost a full-sized door, but I do need to duck a little when entering. It took me about double the time to set it up on my own (so, 20 minutes).
