We TRY to ship same day for blanks ordered by 10 am CST, but may have to wait 1-2 days for a restock. We keep a small quantity of other colors/bottles on hand, and can source other colors/sizes for you upon request. Ship time depends on manufacturer availability and shipping. The one thing the Yeti really has over the Ozark Trail mug, in terms of performance, is the slider on the lid. Not surprisingly, both tumblers were better at maintaining cold ozark trail chair temperatures than hot with the cold temperatures rising at a much lower rate. Even though the tumblers had slightly different initial temperatures, it took both cups approximately 45 minutes to raise 1°F.
The vacuum chamber in a double wall vacuum sealed thermos prevents that convection from occurring and greatly increases the duration that your drink remains at the desired temperature. This design consists of, you guessed it, two stainless steel walls as well as a vacuum sealed chamber that sits in between the two walls. With a traditional single wall thermos, convection occurs transferring the internal heat out or vice versa, impacting the liquids temperature over time and at a greater pace. As an avid outdoorsman, I can say from experience that a hot drink on a cold morning or a cold drink in the blazing heat of a midsummer day is a creature comfort that I can’t live without. I am not only an avid coffee drinker, but I am also the former co-owner of a coffee roasting company, so when I say I take coffee seriously I absolutely mean it. Having such a deep love of a great tasting cup of coffee I am always on the hunt for a thermos to keep my brew in.
I started the test first thing when I got to the office and was waiting for hours on end. By the time I left the office about eight hours later, the ice still wasn’t entirely melted and the water levels in both tumblers seemed to be at the same level. Also, once the water reached about 80°F, both mugs were able to maintain that temperature for a few hours, meaning you can enjoy your tea or coffee for a long time.
If your heart is set on a hot cup of coffee, taking a drink from your travel tumbler only to discover it’s lukewarm (or, even worse, cold), is a nightmare. If you want a refreshing iced coffee, it’s just as bad to sip a watered-down and temperate concoction. Thankfully, there’s a $9 tumbler at Walmart that has all the power of more expensive brands but at a fraction of the cost. One difference I noticed is that the YETI brand specifically states dishwasher safe and Ozark Trail says to NOT place in the dishwasher.
