Genesis Winding Bike Rack

There aren’t a whole lot of dealers that carry this bike right now, in part because I believe their margins are very low, but it is available online. If you do get it over the Internet there will be some assembly involved and it can take some effort to work with. Ultimately, you get power and decent range here but only have a twist throttle to take advantage of it. Pedal assist adds cost and complexity but helps when climbing hills and ultimately extends your range while giving your wrist a break. The pack on this bike is removable and feels pretty solid but the rack it mounts to is high up and fairly rigid which creates more strain.

The battery powering this bike delivers ~36 volts of power and 9 amp hours of capacity. That’s kind of average and the pack is a bit heavier than some equivalent designs because it uses a Lithium Iron Phosphate chemistry vs. Lithium Manganese or Lithium Cobalt. The pack is kind of large and you can actually upgrade it to be even larger if you want, just be careful over large bumps given the limited strength of just one pair of support struts vs. higher end ProdecoTech bikes. The greatest restriction on how fast you can go when pinning singletrack is the tyres, yes they are fast rolling but they lack bite, something with greater cornering grip would certainly show off bikes handling better. At around 27lbs the Core weighs in somewhere in the middle of the scale that you would expect for a 120mm trail blaster but it feels nippy and easy to spin up to speed thanks to the lightweight rims and fast rolling tyres. Product PresentationFrom free-ride, long-travel mountain models to fun city bikes, the presentation is a key attractor on the sales floor. Just because a bike is designed for one specific purpose doesn’t mean it is limited to that purpose. Adventure bikes are very versatile and can be put to a multitude of uses. If you want more control over exactly what components your bikes is built with, both of these are available to buy as just the frameset. In this range there are also women’s specific models – in addition to the unisex ones.

With the right maintenance and professional assembly from a company like National Assemblers, you can enjoy your genesis mountain bike for years to come. Here at National Assemblers, we understand that assembling a bike can be a daunting task. With testing complete, we release two bikes built for adventure – the Datum (faster, lighter Croix) and Vagabond (the Croix’s mad aunt). There’s also room for a new mountain bike that takes 27.5 plus tyres, or regular 29ers. We’ve partnered with Freewheel as a solution to offer Genesis bikes online whilst supporting local bike shops at the same time. Each online sale supports the selected bike shop with a percentage of your sale, whether you choose to click & collect or get it delivered straight to your door.

The wheelset is lightweight with an internal rim width of 19mm that will take good sized rubber which means you could add some float to the ride with some high volume tyres. The Core 26.4 came fitted with 2.2 Mountain Kings, the originals not the much improved Mountain King II. Over ten years the range expanded beyond commuter bikes to include road, mountain, cyclo-cross, gravel, kids and fat bikes.

An affordable, but heavy, folding electric bike with twist throttle only. Available primarily online, offers solid two year warranty including battery pack… The Genesis™ bicycle rack features concentric rings that park bikes safely and securely. The Genesis™ rack offers two contact points, at the front and rear, for stable locking. The unique design of the Genesis™ bike rack is both visually appealing and able to provide double the parking space of typical serpentine racks.

The Datum comes with 32c tyres, which is a bit closer to the ‘road’ end of the spectrum. But there is clearance for up to 38c, so if the conditions require it, this bike is able to handle the rougher stuff. Some adventures are about taking your time and drinking in your surroundings, others are about getting there fast.

Genesis have been bringing the best British designed bikes to the market since 2006. Now with twelve years of experience, Genesis offer a truly brilliant range of bicycles to cover almost every discipline. Rugged hardtail mountain bikes, traditional and modern road bikes, classic commuters, cyclocross, tourers and some specialist machines too. In the early 2000’s many companies were using rear mounted packs because it’s easy and cheap, they didn’t have fancy pedal assist options and the computers were also very simple or non existent. The Genesis 500 brings updated Lithium batteries that are lighter and longer lasting and a variable speed twist throttle that is fun to use. Over time your hand might get tired (and good luck trying to carry it up stairs) but for the money it gets the job done and could be a solid option for someone willing to screw around a bit and who also fits the frame.
