I Tested the Ozark Trail 10-Person Cabin Tent Review

Overall, because a lot of water leaked through the un-taped seams and even the tent fabric after just 15 minutes of mostly light rain, I would say that this Ozark Trail 10-Person Tent is not waterproof at all. You might get a little bit of ventilation through the gap between the ceiling mesh and the rainfly, but I think it’s pretty minimal. Seasons-wise and climate-wise, this is a summer camping tent or perhaps maximum for 1.5 – 2 seasons. They do not provide any info about the waterproof rating, also the fly is minimal and there are many openings on its three sides. So I would not put it to very serious tests in harsh weather conditions. The bigger part of the tent is a single-layer structure, only the ceiling is with the mesh and here you have the minimal fly added as the second layer.

And finally, the biggest con is probably that the quality isn’t the best with the slightly sticky tent fabric, loose threads, snagging issues and inconsistent mesh. The Ozark Trail 10-Person Tent also comes with a room divider, so you can split the tent into 2 rooms, and each “room” can fit 2 queen-sized camping mattresses. If there’s no rain, you can unzip the windows for more ventilation, and there’s a bug net to prevent larger bugs from getting in. It took me about double the time to set it up on my own (so, 20 minutes). But unfortunately, because I’m not tall (I’m 5’3″), I couldn’t get the rainfly up on my own, and that’s where I got stuck.

The rain fly also uses transparent PVC for the skylight windows, which helps provide further waterproofing while allowing you to watch the rain. But there are actually quite a few different 8 person tents, all with their own features, and which one will be best for you depends a lot on what you’ll use it for. They do not provide any info about its waterproof rating, but this is a tent with a minimal fly that covers the ceiling only. The windows and doors are with panels as mentioned above so you have all protection, but with so many zippers and windows, it is best to use it in areas without much rain.

If we had to spend a day in the tent during a storm, would it be comfortable? After first removing the models that failed the structural tests, we slept, watched the stars, and ate our meals in all of the tents, as well as planned hikes from them. There are also 4 elbow joints, which ozark trail shower tent helps to connect some of the poles, and this also make up the instant mechanism. The stitching on this tent isn’t the best, there were quite a few areas of patchwork all around the entire tent, so unfortunately, that’s another con against this tent when it comes to quality.

There is also a removable media pocket (shown below), and a large removable organizer with many pockets which you can hang on the wall without windows or just over the window as the picture shows. Now that you know all the specs and features, it’s time to look at our favorite qualities of this tent. We’ve ranked them from gold to bronze, but we think they all have an important purpose for making this an excellent tent. The structure is boxy and although it looks so stable, I would not use it in strong winds and rains. Note that there are no options to stake the floor sides in the middle, but you have guylines for the vents’ flaps, they are visible in the picture below. The picture below shows the light on in one out of three modes, low, medium and high light.

You have to add the fly as well, so it is best to have somebody to help you. This is why I have added it to my list of best instant camping tents. Like most tents fit for 3-season trips, you’ll find a lot of mesh openings throughout Ozark trail 12 person tent. The roof is fully screened without the rainfly on, which makes for lovely stargazing at night.
