The 100 square feet of interior space provided ample room for my family and friends to enjoy the great outdoors. Hitting your tee shot too far left will make for a difficult approach shot to a narrow and long green. A bunker and heavy rough sit directly next to the green on the left side. This long and daunting par 5 plays all uphill, but the generous fairway gives you plenty of room to navigate your way towards the green.
The Screen House is far more portable but less rugged than the Clam, and it also offers a fully enclosed system that keeps bugs at bay. The Eureka Tagalong is lightweight with stellar components, so if you want to be a bit more mobile with your canopy, this is one of our favorites. And if you can step into the next price bracket, the Eurmax Standard 10×10 is hands-down our top choice. The added cost will buy you stronger materials and a structure that you won’t have to worry about falling apart for many years to come — if at all.
Then I started having other wild fantasies, like effectively adding a room to the desert shack where I live by erecting the shadehouse in the backyard. If anyone has a hub gable or #1 Roof pole, I would be interested in buying those parts. I loved the size of this screen house but after a few uses, the 4-way hub gable cracked and a couple of the curved roof poles bent a little. I was wondering if anyone out there can e-mail me the manual. I packed my Ozark Trail WMT1412R 14’x12′ Screen House away because of Huricane Katrina and I guess in all the confusion I did not pack the manual in a waterproof container.
The Kelty Wireless 6 is a spacious tent that is easy to pitch, and it offers solid weather protection and durability for a reasonable price. Like the Mineral King 3, it has a simple, dome-style design that maximizes livability and minimize headaches. (As its name indicates, it’s meant to house six people, but we wouldn’t recommend that.) However, I did notice that the tent was not entirely waterproof during our camping trip. It managed to hold up during a downpour, but there were a few instances where water dripped in through the ceiling. It proved to be a minor inconvenience, and I think it might be worth investing in a waterproofing spray to help prevent any future leaks. Overall, the Ozark Trail 10-Person Camping Tent is a pretty good choice for families or friends looking to have a comfortable and spacious camping experience.
Each canopy was set up and broken down repeatedly to assess its ease of use and craftsmanship, separating the well-designed from the failure-prone or confusing models. Methodically, we used each tent in its intended environment — plus some unintended ones — to see just how much use we could get out of them.
