Aside from trashed tires and one flat tube, it mostly needed just a cleaning to make it presentable. I shelled out for two new, slightly wider tires (no whitewalls), tubes, and handlebar grips, removed the decals, and added a bell and reflectors I already had. The front fork and chainguard were a very dull silver (a.k.a., gray) that detracted from the look of the chrome fenders, so I sprayed on two coats of Rustoleum gloss white. This cruiser bike is made in a vintage style, with a seafoam green color to match. If the bike is single speed or internal hub geared, chains with internal width of 1/8″ / 3.2mm are usually used. This is probably what you need. This turned out to be one of my fondest adventures.
But the Huffy pedal axles turned out to be spindlier than the clipless pedals. Short of rigging, say, toe clips and straps to the plastic Huffy pedals, I would have to use them as is with mechanically huffy nighthawk inefficient street shoes. The Huffy had not even arrived at my doorstep before I was planning a grand adventure for it. Colorado Springs seemed a natural destination for it since my friends Lisa and Jeremiah lived down there.
