Weber Traveler Mini 1 Burner Liquid Propane Grill

The compact, portable design is easy to transport thanks to durable, all-weather wheels. The grill features a large cooking area and 13,000 BTUs of output power that is consistently distributed weber genesis grill over the porcelain-enameled cast iron grilling surface. This is a top-of-the-line grill perfect for the chef who wants to prepare delicious meals from the backyard to the campsite.

On the flip side, the Traveler is less portable than the brand would have you believe in its flashy promotional videos. It’s heavier than any other portable grill I’ve tested and I would categorize the Traveler as a semi-portable grill and not a truly portable grill. Next, I wanted to see how well I could control the temperature for lower-slower grilling candidates. There’s just one knob to control the fuel output and while the temp did drop when I lowered it, it was difficult to precisely control the temp one way or the other.

Another reviewer disliked the low lid, which prevented them from cooking a whole chicken. They also wished that the grill was split so they could control the heat better, as there was only one burner to control all the cooking space.

It is a decent size, and you can easily feed around ten people without having to cook twice if you keep it simple with burgers. You can also cook burgers, steak, and veggies for 4-6 people, all on one grill. It heats up quickly and gets to a temperature of 500 degrees, which makes it ideal for steaks and burgers. However, it only has one temperature control, and you may have difficulty cooking at very low temperatures.

If you want to grill steaks, burgers, chicken and hot dogs having one single burner won’t be a problem. It’s also big enough that you can enjoy cooking with it at home. In this review, I’ll run through my experience cooking on the Weber Traveller, both at home and on the road. And if you want to check out a video review we did I’ve included that below. At 1,300 BTUs, the Weber has a good punch of power for a portable grill.

We also recently did a review of the new Weber Q2800N+ which is the latest version of the Q range and comes with a few nice upgrades. Judging by the char, the surfaces were the hottest weber natural gas grill just outside of the solid ring on the grates that is meant to protect grease from spilling onto the burners. The very inner and outer parts of the surface were the cooler zones.

If you need precise temperature control, this may not be the grill for you. But for your average barbecue cook, it is perfectly adequate. Most Weber products are known for their durability and reliability, and the Weber Traveler is no exception. Despite being a folding barbecue, it doesn’t feel flimsy or poorly constructed.
