We put the lightweight Cool Cabana pop up beach canopy to the test during an East Coast vacation. What better way to enjoy a ballgame, picnic, or any outdoor activity than with a little bit of shade! This 10’x10′ canopy pops up easily, and will keep sun burn and overheating at bay. The canopy features a built-in 300 lumen LED lighting system that features a low, medium and high setting so you can tailgate… I’m carrying a birth control pill with the intention of taking it continuously for the whole time on trail so that I do not have to deal with periods.
The canopy fabric is made of a lightweight denier polyester, offering water resistant features and 50+ UPF, which we love. Being protected from the suns harmful UVB rays is probably why you wanted a canopy tent in the first place, and this Ozark Trail tent meets all criteria in this department. The one complaint we have is that there is no vents in the fabric at the peak to release the build up of hot air under the canopy. Most new tents incorporate this ventilated canopy design to increase airflow and reduce the trapping of hot air, helping to keep those in the shade cooler and more comfortable. Slant leg canopy tents are cheaper than straight leg tents because they use less material. Aluminum tent legs not only have a larger leg diameter (1” for steel vs. 2” for aluminum) but the thickness (or gauge) of aluminum is twice that of steel.
We know everyone isn’t a good fit for professional-grade TentCraft structures, and that’s OK! But if and when you’re tired of replacing cheap tents, reach out to us to learn more about what American-made quality looks and feels like. While I initially bought an inflatable Nemo Tensor pad, I will start the trail with a foam one I got for free—a Therm-a-Rest Ridgerest.
It can also be useful for setting up a station at a fair or commercial event. Get outside with the Ozark Trail 10′ x 10′ Commercial Canopy with Sidewalls. Keep your outdoor event protected from the sun and rain with the Ozark Trail 20′ x 10′ Straight Leg Instant Canopy.
The most popular product in their line is the 10×10 Instant Slant Leg Tent with a blue canopy top. It is made with a steel construction frame and polyester material for the canopy, which is in line with just about every shade tent on the market today. The frame is that of a pyramid structure, which are generally found in all value brand canopy tents as they require less material to manufacture vs. that of a full truss system and as a result can keep the price lower.
Also, when people I know ask me what I’m bringing, I can divert them here—I find that once I write something, I dislike regurgitating the same opinions. I’ll likely make another post when I’m done hiking detailing what I like and don’t like after being used for months. The tent sites that are waypointed on FarOut all ozark trail wagon seem to have a fire ring and chairs made out of flat rocks circling. There is space for 2-3 tents here, so we chose the flattest spot with the least amount of poison ivy to set up our tent. A frequent reader of our site put the lightweight Cool Cabana pop up beach canopy to the test during a West Coast vacation.
It’s like we are watching spring unfold slowly before our very eyes. It feels like winter was still holding on, not ready to let go just yet. We both stay bundled up as this side of the mountain is in the shade. A zesty twist on our milder hummus, we mix our sprouted garbanzo beans with local chili peppers to create this fiery dip.
It’s advertised as a 10×10 tent, but your canopy is actually 7.8’ x 7.8’, for about 61 square feet of space under the canopy. If canopy coverage is important to you, this is a very good reason to go with a straight-leg option. But as you look at different slant leg tents, you’ll also notice the frames use less steel and have fewer plastic connection points. Here’s a sketch one of our engineers made to explain the slant leg design.
