Bissell CleanView Swivel Pet Review Tested & Rated

Both the Bissell CleanView Swivel Pet’s overall and handle weight came in at less than the average upright. That, combined with its two-axis swivel, makes it really easy to use. So its low price and high customer reviews are a strange combination. When we got our CleanView Swivel Pet upright home, we cracked open the box. Inside we found the vacuum’s component parts, three accessories, and a manual.

Upright vacuums stand upright and are excellent for deep cleaning carpets. Their design allows for easy storage and straightforward use, making them popular in households. One of the reasons we think people like the Bissell CleanView Swivel Pet is that it has a lot of features that upright vacuums in this price range usually don’t have.

Well-loved by our experts for its powerful cleaning and budget-friendly price, this cordless stick vacuum was a top performer in our recent test of 21 stick vacuums. While testing it in the Lab, we found that it offers many of the same attributes as some more expensive cordless bissell pet vacuum stick vacs like a long run time, a variety of helpful attachments and variable suction levels. The tangle-free brush roll helps prevent hair from wrapping around it while cleaning, and the full-width suction means you’ll have an easier time getting tight corners clean.

Wet/dry vacuums are versatile and particularly useful in garages, workshops and outdoor use. Models with a “Yes” in this column are effective at controlling the release of fine dust and dirt particles. How long, rounded to the nearest half-minute, the vacuum can run on one battery charge in its highest-power mode.

It made our arms ache and we struggled to clean up high with it for more than 30 seconds at a time. Similar to the majority of cordless vacuums, the floor cleaner isn’t freestanding. As such, to ensure it remains stable while being charged, Bissell includes a wall mount in the box.

Predicted brand reliability is based on estimated problem rates for newly purchased upright vacuums, not covered by an extended warranty or service contract, within the first five years of ownership. At BISSELL, we know pets can make messes; that’s why we created the Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Rewind upright vacuum. It doesn’t matter if you vacuumed just hours earlier, Fido will leave his hair wherever, whenever, so you need to be ready for his messes at any moment. There are two other versions of the Pet Hair Eraser on the market, the corded model and the alternate cordless version with the same name. Neither of the alternate models have the same functionality or battery life of this version, however, and are not as highly rated. There are a few tools that come with the BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus.

As such, it’s definitely better suited to homes comprising mainly carpeted floors. The vacuum is one of the quietest we’ve tested; it registered a maximum of 72dB on hard floors, and a pleasingly 63dB on carpet, on the most powerful setting. This is the equivalent to the levels a TV might reach when watched on normal volume, with no background noise, which we think is a more than acceptable level. We pushed these products to their limits with our final metric, tasking them with cleaning up pet hair from a local groomer pressed into a section of carpet. The CleanView Pet did very well in this regard — as the name would suggest — picking up 99% of the hair we laid out.
