Ozark Trail 8×8 Instant Sun Shade Review Instructions Ozark Trail Sun Shelter Setup

Only complaint was the zipper hangs on the front door flap, destroyed flap and zipper. I have tried to use it at our local beach and when ever the wind gets to 7-10 mph off we go chasing the tarp and that leaves the screen dome uncovered and in blew the sand. Once we tried it at the lake wind came up, off comes the tarp that with a light rain everything got wet. It comes loose easily enough but over time this has put lots of little holes in that flap.

The tent is good for the money, however, i got it end of season last year and when we went camping this year, it had no rainfly/canopy. It does leak, the only way to stay perfectly dry is to drape ozark trail sleeping bag your own tarp over the top under the rainfly to keep it in place. If you do not have a tarp then you will get wet. My family and I have used it a total of 3 times and the seams have ripped.

85 outside so this should not have happened. I live in Canada and find these tents to be very good. If you a experienced camper like myself you would know that you have to use a tarp to cover your tent so that the water does not get inside when it rains.

This easy to set-up sun shelter is treated with UV protectant and has a floor area of 48 sq. Ft. to provide the perfect coverage for a lazy day of lounging at the beach or to shade yourself while cheering on your star athlete. Center height so even adults can comfortably sit under it. Easy to set up with color coded poles, pole sleeves, and webbing, this sun shelter can go with you anywhere you may need protection from the sun. Side and rear mesh panels provide cross ventilation.

I watersealed the seams, as per the instruction sheet inside the carrying bag but I have not been rained on yet. The Ozark Trail 8×8 Instant Sun Shade did exactly what we needed it to. It kept us out of the sun when we didn’t want to be in it.

I must say that nothing is waterproof, water resistant is a better term. I bought a $3 bottle of seam sealer followed the directions and have not had a single issue with water since. The first time I got it set up was about that same day.

I sprayed the tent after the first use (I feel a tent should get a test run without water sealant the first time then if it leaks I will spray it with sealant). This tent leaked a little the first time after only one hour of rain. Then after putting sealant on the sides and rain-fly with spray and seam seal stick it still leaked. Lastly after only five times using it the shock cord pole for the rain-fly broke (the cord snapped).
