Ozark Trail 8×8 Instant Sun Shade Review Instructions Ozark Trail Sun Shelter Setup

The short pole supplied for that protrusion splintered in two places and poked about four small holes in the black fabric of the laundry bubble. Rather it should have been a large pocket on the inside of the tent that requires no pole at all. The Ozark Trail 8×8 Instant Sun Shade did exactly what we needed it to. It kept us out of the sun when we didn’t want to be in it.

I also sealed the two floor seams with a seam sealant. The fly sheet has taped seams, but none of the inner seams are taped. It has survived some heavy downpours with no leaks. I bought this tent for light summer use because it was cheap and big enough to stand up in. Wal-mart does not sell this tent in the U.K., however another supermarket Tesco does, but not as an ‘Ozark Trail’. I found these reviews only after having bought the tent, so I was expecting trouble right from the start.

It is easy to set up and take down, and I loved the fact that it has three windows for lots of circulation in the heat and humidity. The first time I got it set up was about that same day. My parents decided to do it and the setup was decent.

And you have to make sure that the zipper is closed well and also sprayed with a water repellent. But unfortunately, they are many morons out there that don’t know the first thing about camping. I have the JW-7607 which is a 2-3 (read that as two) person tent. I have had it for years and am thrilled with it.

Our granddaughter used it one time and lost the rain fly. This is a great tent spacious, versatile, and the zippered pockets in the front are great. The biggest of my problems with this tent was maybe a zipper getting stuck, but that is understandable. It does take a little longer to set up (about 10 min.) but that’s just a price you have to pay for the size of this tent. Also for the guy that has the first review, no joke the tent collapsed snow is fairly heavy and then did you even set the tent up correctly.

But the only problem i got is that the poles are falling apart because of the elastic cording inside them is rotted out. I can’t find anywhere to fix the problem so i will have ozark trail sleeping bag to retire it and buy a new one soon. Also using a ground cover under the tent (seems obvious to me) will help prevent water from coming in from the underside of the tent.

The tent is open at the top with a weather rain fly that fits over the dome. The fly is so small it allows rain to blow up under and then runs into the tent. I had bought this tent thinking it was going to be dry, man was I wrong. This tent leaked water more than i had ever seen. I will never buy an Ozark Trail tent in my life and I will tell everyone I know that if they buy one what to expect. And that is you will never be dry in one because they suck bad.

At first, Walmart fought me on the return. I was told there was nothing they could do. Customer service stated that it was past the point where the purchase populated in their system. Eventually they gave in and provided store credit. In theory this item has a one year warranty. If used heavily, I can not see this product making it through a full camping or outdoor season.
