Single-lane in both directions will be closed Monday to Thursday from 10 pm to 5 am next morning, Saturday and Sunday from 1 am to 6 am. Double-lane in both directions will be closed Monday to Friday from 1 am to 5 am, Saturday and Sunday from 2 am to 6 am.

Accessible picnic tables are located within the facility. Kensington Metropark has one Floating Beech Wheelchair available to rent for free, allowing visitors the ability to enjoy the sand and water at Martindale Beach. The chair is available to rent during summer from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day. Please note, a companion or attendant is required as Metroparks staff will not be able to assist with transfers or pushing the wheelchair on the beach or in the water.

The chair is available to rent for FREE Tuesday through Sunday each week between May 1 and October 31. Maple Beach has family changing rooms available in the recently constructed restroom building. An adjacent playground was designed using universal design principals. Single-lane eastbound will be closed Monday to Thursday from 10 am to 2 pm and from 11 pm to 5 am next morning, Friday from 10 am to 2 pm and from 11 pm to 7 am next morning.

We’re adding new accessible picnic tables and grills to several picnic shelters throughout the park system. Work continues on installation of new concrete grill pads and securing picnic tables in arrangements that allow for unobstructed movement around them. Picnic shelter rental information will be updated on our website as changes are made. Trails vary in length from half a mile to two miles and can be combined for an even longer walk. Trails are mainly level, unpaved gravel paths with wooden bridges and boardwalks.

Geocaching (pronounced geo-cashing) is a high tech treasure hunt using a handheld GPS receiver to navigate to the ‘cache’ (treasure) locations. Multiple caches are hidden around Betteshanger Park, for teams to locate and complete the activity sheet along the way. Geocaching combines outdoor play with team building, problem solving and other valuable educational outcomes. Whoosh through the snow and practice your fundamentals at our snowboarding area. You’ll find a designated snowboarding hill near the Orchard picnic area.

Bundle up and enjoy a few hours ice-fishing on Kent Lake at Kensington Metropark. Popular access points to Kent Lake include the West Boat Launch and Turtlehead picnic area. Winter catches include bluegill, kent road bike black crappies, yellow perch and the occasional northern pike. The Toboggan Course is located across the road from the Maple Beach parking lot and has been thrilling players and fans for decades.

It covers approximately 866 acres (3.5 km2), which house over 100 buildings, gardens, bike trails, and open greenery. The campus is divided into North, South, and East sections but many areas have come to be referred to as Front Campus, Residential Campus, and Science Row. The main hub of activity and central point is the Student Center and Risman Plaza, which is adjacent to the twelve-story main library. ASPEN TRAIL – 1.5 MILES

A 1.5 mile trail of compact gravel with wooden boardwalks and wooden bridges. This relatively flat trail contains both shady sections and full sun exposure and features one shortcut allowing you to shorten the loop to 1 mile.

If you bring your own bike, we can hire you a helmet for £2. Some of the more challenging obstacles include a 6ft wall climb, a rope, descend and cargo net crawl. Those looking for an easier option can tackle balance beams, water jumps and rope walks. It’s a true team endeavor and great bonding experience.
