The Bindi uses a bungee cord instead of a thick headband. Many running headlamps include a strap that goes over the top of your head, which can be uncomfortable, but the Bindi’s cord manages to keep the headlamp secure without one. It’s also adjustable with one hand and much easier to wear with a hat or ponytail. The Black Diamond Astro 300 offers many of the good qualities of the Spot, for less than half of the price. It’s a solid option to keep in your toolbox, but for trail adventures, we’d want the battery-light warnings and red-light mode of our top pick.
We like this durable, well-constructed chair that has a frame that makes you confident to sit. These don’t cast very far into the distance—definitely not the promised 26 feet on high. But they are fun to look at and likely safer for children, who might not know they should avoid staring directly into the light. Upon first setting up the Wiz, we found it tough to get the batteries into the housing (it’s intentionally hard to pry open, for safety). Once they’re in, however, the light turns on and immediately enters Rainbow mode.
They didn’t hurt my shoulders as I carried the bag around with me. When my bag got wet from a few rides, it easily and quickly dried because of its thin material, I really liked that. The bag has one large compartment and then a smaller one on the front/side. Overall this is a great small bag to take along with you. I like how you can put water bottles and snacks in the main compartment and cell phone/wallet in the smaller one, so you don’t have to worry about them getting covered in crumbs or spilled water. If you can manage the stairs, it’s truly a must-see bucket list destination.

I also like the fact that for my outdoor activities, it’s designed to hold a hydration bladder. It even has a rain cover built in, which is great when I’m riding my bicycle across town on a rainy day. At a whopping 28”, this chair can accommodate just about anyone.
Still, this is a solid headlamp for working around the house. The Astro is compatible with the same add-on rechargeable battery as the Spot. Because the waterfall is easily accessible and open year-round, large groups and families with children may enjoy the falls, too. Not the best choice for long trips or hikers who need to carry a large amount of gear. Great for hiking in warm weather, thanks to the breathable construction, mesh straps, and hydration bladder hook up. This hydration compatible backpack has a connection for a water bladder built in to the design.
Along the way you’ll cross paths with fewer people than you can count on two hands—just keep an eye out for mountain bikers and horseback riders who frequent the multi-use sections of the trail. Size is perfect for day trips, smaller individuals, and teens. Material is durable and will stand up to heavy duty use.
