We love the center height, at 7 feet and with a cabin design, it creates these huge interiors that feel like a house when you’re inside. Then when you’re inside its got a ton of cool features that help group camping and support the extra gear you’ll be taking. We also think it’s one of the more spacious 9 person models on the market, with large space able to fit multiple large mattresses. With most instant tents this ozark trail instant cabin model goes up in mere minutes, and folds down just as quickly, so the convenience of using a fastpitch tent is evident. The tent itself is nice and roomy, and boasts a 6-foot peak height to make changing clothes a drama-free endeavor. The Ozark Trail 9 Person Cabin shares the same shortcomings as the other discount cabins found in the Ozark Trail lineup, most notably being its weather protection and durability.
As you can see one of the more notable features is the integrated screen room, providing extra space to be utilized in numerous different ways. A few very small pockets are on the wall, see the picture below, and I find this really inappropriate for such a big tent designed for 11 people. See this Big Agnes Flying Diamond 6 tent which has 16 huge pockets (for 6 people).
The price tag is excellent so if you need a tent for occasional use in very mild weather conditions, this can certainly be an option to consider. But the tent is with an awning, which needs another 8 x 6 ft in front of the entrance doors. This would mean that the ground area is of the shape + or a cross, ozark trail canopy tent and the two lengths are 14 and 20 ft. Though you do not need to use the awning if you don’t have enough ground. Having room to spread out inside a tent is great, but unless it’s after dark or raining, chances are you won’t be spending any more time inside your shelter than you absolutely have to.
The back room is with the built-in fly so you have no extra work for this section. You have the awning available, and it creates a great sitting area in front of the main entry doors, and its size is roughly 8 x 6 ft (2.44 x 1.83 m). The Ozark Trail 11 Person 3 Room Instant Cabin Tent is an interesting structure with an additional private room added to the rear of the tent. Generally speaking, if you go into buying an Ozark Trail tent with reasonable expectations, you won’t be disappointed. They’re not built for heavy winds, and they certainly aren’t made to stand up to heavy snow.
Camping is far more fun when you have someone sharing the experience with you. But with a family-size tent, you can camp in groups, whether you’re traveling with your in-laws, your spouse and kids, your favorite friends or a combination of all of the above. With tents readily available to sleep two or more families, you can turn your camping excursion into an outing to remember. You have two large mesh windows on the sides (they are also with panels for privacy and against the rain), and two windows are on the front doors, also with mesh and panels. The ceiling is all mesh as typical for all Ozark Trail tents (but see some of their dark rest tents). The fact that it has a divider in the main cabin part, plus an attached room on the rear side, tell you that you can have some privacy in such a space.
Make sure to stake it down properly to avoid any incidents during windy conditions. Your tent won’t be air-conditioned, and things can get stuffy once you pack it full of people. Newer tents build in vents and roofs that you can open up to promote airflow, along with the mesh windows that will let in air when you choose.
I didn’t think I had a large enough space in my backyard to pitch this tent (14×13.5) I barely squeezed it in my yard. I laid down a tarp before I took out the tent from its box and it took me about 15 minutes to put up (&and I don’t like reading instruction but it is on the inside of the duffle bag). The main selling point of this tent is the screen room that is attached to the exterior wall of the main tent. Screened rooms are great for providing a large space that you can enjoy the surrounding natural landscape in a mesh-enclosed environment. A nice touch on the rainfly is that it extends over the screen room so you can remain “indoors” while it pours, offering some respite during rained off days. Which is the main reason people opt for the screen rooms, for that little area to chill in.
