This is a pretty bold statement considering we have reviewed a ton of wheeled coolers in the past. However, this claim is easily defended considering the superior ice retention and the included features/accessories. Igloo coolers are insulated, and as such, each container efficiently protects against heat and cold elements. These coolers are not designed to heat or cool an object, but with their foam insulation, your Igloo keeps the temperature at the same level for an extended period of time.

When they made this cooler they envisioned it to be an all-around type of cooler and that’s the sense you get when you explore the features. Apart from the wheels, we have some stands for when your cooler is stationary.
And they come with some aggressive tread that allows for great traction through dirt, sand, and grass. And combine with the fact that they are never-flats, you have a great mobility solution that is designed to last. While we always prefer more size options, if we had to choose just one size, a 70-quart is pretty good. It is large enough to fit all of the food and drinks for a decent-sized group while still not being overly large to the point that it is a challenge to transport and store.

The construction of the cooler is strong and durable; it’s a cooler built to last. Though not rotomolded (like the Yeti Tundra Haul), it does still have a thick layer of their THERMECOOL™ insulation that is eco-friendly and promises to keep ice frozen for up to four days.
While we sort of wish that they would have gone with Rotomolded construction, this process would have likely greatly increased the size, weight, and cost of the cooler. The next most notable feature is the glide handle that also doubles as a butler tray. This feature is something that you will find on very few other coolers on the market and it is a great way to stand out from the crowd while having a nifty feature. Finally, one of the most important aspects is the mobility of this cooler.
In addition, a few users have requested an extra latch on the lid. While the absence of lid latches ensures easy opening, we suggest using a bungee cord or a similar item in the lockdown loops if you anticipate your cooler being overturned during use. If you go with the Trailmate Liddup or Trailmate Marine models you will only have a single color to choose from. The Liddup comes in a gray/red combo and the Marine comes in white (similar to all of Igloo’s other marine-inspired products). Why we didn’t quite reach the 4-day mark that Igloo suggested, it wasn’t far off. Most people aren’t going to use this much ice as it would take up way too much valuable storage volume.
