I priced other internal frame daypacks before my trip and this was by far the cheapest. I took this pack on a 5-day mountain bike ride from Pittsburgh, Pa., to Washington, D.C., and it performed very well. We like to go on day hikes around our area and my other backpacks are much bulkier and heavier than this one. We ozark trail backpack live close to Zion National Park and it gets very hot during the day, so you want to make sure to always have water with you. We were also impressed by the waterproofness of the cooler, mainly how it holds moisture inside. Walmart says it uses a Microban lining to help waterproof it, and resist odors and stains.
If you need a large pack, or are heading on a days-long adventure, this pack won’t work for you. On the small side, so it won’t work for ozark trail backpack hikers who need a spacious pack. While this is made of a lightweight water resistant material, it does not have a built in rain flap.
With access to the Ozark Trail available year-round, hikers will need to prepare differently for each season. Ozark springs see a lot of rain and varied temperatures; Ozark summers tend to be hot, muggy, and wet; Ozark winters can drop below freezing. Wet weather is common to the Ozark climate, especially in late spring through summer, and fosters a breeding ground for bugs, mosquitos, and ticks. Consider bringing waterproof shoes and treating your clothes ahead of time with permethrin to repel insects. In the colder seasons insulating layers are a must, and a good rain shell for you and rain fly for your tent are necessary year-round.
