I followed the TOA-65’s handy dehydrate chart and picked tomatoes as a test. I dehydrated halved grape tomatoes at the recommended 140 degrees F with high fan speed and at about eight hours had lovely, flavor-packed dried tomatoes. When it comes to functionality, the TOA-65 allows for more precise cooking than the TOA-60. We prefer having the ability to set an exact temperature in five-degree incriments on the TOA-65, rather than using the TOA-60 knob that can only toggle in 50-degree incriments. Considering they’re the perfect size to fit in a dishwasher, it seems crazy to me that Cuisinart didn’t make them dishwasher friendly. And in the absence of being able to clean them in the dishwasher, it would have been nice if they were non-stick. There’s nothing complicated about using this appliance to toast, just select the toast function and your desired shade and that’s it. I popped a bagel on the center of the rack and set it toast, though since I hadn’t toasted in it before I kept a close eye on it – this is where the internal light comes in handy. Air frying function really makes everything perfectly crispy without being unhealthy.

The Cuisinart comes with three trays–the air frying basket (top tray you see below), a sheet pan, and a rack. These are all interchangeable in position based on what you’re cooking. You want whichever rack you are using to be on top, but make sure the air fry pan is always sitting atop the sheet pan so it can catch drippings, crumbs, etc.
It produced crispy wings and fries, toasted bread well and evenly and made a very good cake that was evenly browned and level. It even nicely browned our steak on the broil function, which is a feature that really impresses us when done well. It has a large capacity and footprint, but doesn’t feel bulky compared to some others with the same capacity. It also offers an intuitive control panel that’s easy to navigate.
There’s also a crumb tray (just like a typical toaster) that pulls out and can be cleaned, but we never really need to clean it since there’s another tray below the basket. The oven requires a login via the app, but it doesn’t require two-factor authentication.
I think this is great for two people but wouldn’t cook enough food in one sitting for say, a family of four to all eat the same meal. We liked this digital model, but the control panel can be a little tricky. The brand also offers a version with mechanical dials for a more simple-to-use interface that’s also a little cheaper. When it comes time to clean your oven, be sure to unplug it first. The TOA-65 made some of the most beautiful toast I have ever seen — evenly golden on the top and bottom. We tested multiple Cuisinart TOA models and found the TOA-65 to be a true kitchen workhouse. Although pricey, the Ninja Foodi 10-in-1 XL Pro Air Fry Oven DT201 is an exceptionally well-designed and versatile appliance.
