The battery fits inside the bottom tube of the bike which gives it a sleek look. There’s a port in the side of the frame where you can charge it without removing, or you can use the keys to pull out battery and charge separately. Almost every cargo e-bike rider we’ve known has accessories for either kids or gear. You can add two XL cargo pannier bags, or seat cushions mongoose excursion and grab bars to the dual-battery XPedition and STILL not cross the typical $2000 mark. The most simple options are the friction-drive kits, such as the Rubbee X, which place a roller onto your rear tyre. In the example of the Rubbee, you simply need to mount the device onto your seat post, with the roller placed against the tyre. However, more complex systems require the removal of drivetrain components and wheels, and the installation of wiring.
Buyers have extraordinary ability to choose from a broad color palette, different batteries, suspension a GPS tracker and plenty more. But make no mistake, we’re fans of the electrical components too. The 500W motor and 614Wh battery pair nicely with the 7-speed drivetrain. We like that they include lights and a rear rack to make the Himiway Cruiser as versatile as possible. We tested both the step-through and high-step versions of the RadCity Plus’ frame and in both brake tests the RadCity was among the top performers in bikes we’ve ever tested. The NUTT hydraulic disk brakes with 180mm rotors perform very well and seem like the right spec choice.
