Like the best touring bikes, the Tour de Fer aims to capture the essence of packing up and heading for the wilderness in a stripped-back yet absolutely feature-loaded package. Before buying, all we have to do is to evaluate, these things include, what are the features, pros and cons, routine maintenance, and the accessories that come with it when you buy it.

Braking is done by using front disc brakes and rear rim brakes, that are both wire driven. Credited with creating the first-ever gravel bike, Genesis bicycles are designed to take you on adventure — off-road, on-road, or wherever your heart desires. So many models are offered that it can be hard to choose exactly which bike is best for you. We’ve split this guide up into four large sections; road genesis bike bikes, adventure bikes, cyclocross bikes, and utility bikes, detailing each of the bikes in the range and how they differ from the others. If you’re a dyed in the wool roadie or complete ‘cross-head, you can jump straight to the section that interests you most.

An avid cyclist, Ignaz Schwinn met Adolf Arnold in Chicago in the 1890s while working as a machinist. After working in numerous factories for a few years, the pair decided to start their own bike company. Genesis invented gravel bikes, and the Vin Cox set a Guinness World Record for the fastest bike around the world. Despite designing all of our bikes in-house in Milton Keynes, we’re lucky to be able to produce them in world-class factories in Vietnam and Indonesia. Our hand-assembled frames are sent to our warehouse to be finished and sold.

I’m honestly not sure if it was just my bike, or if all of these bikes are that way, but it gave just enough, but not too much suspension in the rear. I must say, a lot of people don’t like low end bicycles with a full suspension, as supposedly the rear shocks tend to bounce and it makes for a pogo stick affect. The genesis bicycles bike also offers a full suspension, which means you have shocks in the front and rear of the bike. Genesis bicycles are sought after because they have high-quality frames that are backed by extensive warranties. The Genesis Day One was the name of the company’s first flat-bar road bike, which was introduced in 2001.
